Associate Director of International Operations, American Jewish World Service (AJWS)
Adriana Jiménez is the Associate Director of International Operations at the American Jewish World Service (AJWS). In this role she oversees all operational aspects of AJWS’s grantmaking portfolios in over 19 countries, supervises the grants management team, and directs all grantmaking policies, processes, and systems to ensure they align with AJWS’s core values and strategic goals. Adriana has over 15 years’ experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, including grants management roles at Helmsley Charitable Trust, Surdna Foundation, and the ASPCA. She is currently serving her second term on the board of PEAK Grantmaking through 2021.
In an era of increasingly-closing civic space, human rights and grassroots funders are finding that they need to incorporate greater flexibility and risk taking in their grantmaking.
