Building Grantee Financial Capacity

502 Cowlitz

Grantees are focused on their missions and delivering impactful programs, but often don’t have the capacity or funding to gain and retain talent that brings a deep understanding of their own financial health. This can include how to leverage finance to support strategic decisions, which—and how much—information to share with their boards, the importance of long-term financial planning, details about their business model, or the importance of investment in their financial infrastructure.

In this session, program officer Marissa Tirona will share her journey to build the financial health of grantees through a cohort model that includes assessment, workshops, coaching, and peer learning. Participants will learn how this approach and different aspects of the cohort model can strengthen the long-term financial health of grantees.
